With 19 years’ experience in the plumbing industry, AMG Leak Detection provide a professional, reliable and friendly service throughout Donegal and the surrounding areas. With the latest equipment and technology Andy & AMG aim to locate your leak with minimal damage to your property or business.

Andy explains, that – the cost for finding a leak is usually recoverable through home/building insurance under “trace and access”.  AMG Leak Detection provide a detailed written report along with photos, videos and an invoice to assist with a claim. Andy works along with local loss assessors that can handle your claim making it a stress free experience and ensure you get the best settlement available.

AMG Leak Detection can also provide a water audit service which aims to reduce water usage and water bills within a business or commercial property. The survey consists of checking water meters, storage tanks, toilets, basins, pipework and any water associated appliances. By doing this potential leaks can be avoided or ongoing leaks can be repaired reducing your water consumption.

WATER LEAK DETECTION SERVICE

Donegal & and surrounding areas.

  • Heating leaks (central heating, underfloor, boilers and stoves)
  • Hot and cold water leaks
  • Mains water leaks
  • Waste pipe leaks

AMG use specialist equipment to identify leaks, including:

  • Digital electro-acoustic- When a leak occurs the water flowing from the pipe causes vibrations in the surrounding materials. This noise is then picked up with the ground microphone indicating we are above the source of the leak.

  • Thermal imaging camera– A very useful instrument that’s offers a quick, non intrusive method to locate water leaks and trace the route of pipework beneath the ground by highlighting the differences in surface temperatures.

  • Tracer gas detection– If the leak cannot be easily heard then tracer gas is added to the leaking pipework. The gas is lighter than air and rises up through concrete floors, timber and most floor finishes which is then detected by a highly sensitive detection probe.

Andy has described a useful list of symptoms of water leaks to be aware of:

  • A sudden increase in water usage ( usually more noticeable in a business/commercial property

  • A drop in water pressure

  • Sounds of water running when nothing is turned on

  • Damp patches on floors, paint flaking and bubbling on walls, skirting boards popping off walls

  • Heating systems not working correctly, constantly bleeding air from radiators, air moving creating noise in the system.

Our Vision

Andy was swift to call us back late in the evening when we have a bit of an emergency dueto a leak from a cracked hot water cylinder tank in hot press.
